Opportunities and challenges of China Application of Synthetic Biology in R&D
Synthetic biology has a wide range of applications in healthcare, including RNA drugs, cellular immunotherapy, micro ecological therapies, gene editing-related applications, in vitro assays, medical consumables, enzymes for pharmaceuticals and the production of pharmaceutical ingredients. Examples include the rapid synthesis of vaccines using mRNA technology, the use of gene editing to treat genetic diseases, the design of immune cells with precisely regulated cell behavior and phenotype to treat tumors, the development of rapid and sensitive diagnostic reagents, the modification of microorganisms and the synthesis of artificial phages to treat diseases, and the modification of microorganisms to produce medical consumables and pharmaceutical ingredients. With the innovation and full application of synthetic biology technologies, it will help people to solve more health problems in the future.
